Getting Great Treatment From The OBGYN

About a year ago, I started thinking about having a baby. I knew that I wanted to have a child, but I wasn't sure if my husband was ready. However, after a great discussion with my hubby, I could tell that it was time. We started looking into different options, and I found a great team of professionals who could help. After we tried for a few months, we went in for our appointment, and I was pleased to learn that I was pregnant. It was really special to learn about our little one, and before we knew it, we were inviting our little one into the world. This website is all about starting your family with the help of a great doctor.

Getting Great Treatment From The OBGYN

What You Learn At The Prenatal Imaging Center

by Reginald Ford

When you're pregnant, your baby grows inside your uterus every day. It can be difficult to tell if your unborn child is growing healthily inside you when your body is changing and doing all the right things on its own.

Your biological intuition can help you sense when you need to look deeper into how your baby is forming inside you. If you feel you need further insight as to how your fetus is growing, you can ask your OBGYN about going to a prenatal imaging center. You can also make an appointment for fetal imaging on your own. Just know what your insurance will cover and what you'll have to pay out of pocket when you have your images done.

Here are things you learn when you go to the prenatal imaging center.

What your approximate due date should be

You may go to the prenatal imaging center to see how old your baby is, which is determined by having images done of your unborn baby from several angles. Your baby's length and other measurements are taken, and then these measurements are used to determine how developed your baby is to determine a due date.

While not always entirely accurate, this can be a great way to help you learn when your due date is if you have conflicting dates you may have conceived or if you have no idea when you may have conceived.

What your baby's gender is

After a certain number of weeks of gestation, your baby's genitals should be formed enough to be able to determine sex. While you may not get a clear view if your unborn baby is crossing their legs or has another body part in the way, usually a prenatal imaging center can get a gender result and have this result be accurate up to 100% of the time. The longer you wait to have an ultrasound or sonogram done for gender purposes, the more accurate the results can be.

What your baby's health risks may be

A fetal imaging center can tell if your baby has an enlarged head or brain stem or if there are issues with blood flow, the heart, or other problems. Early detection is key, so if you worry about genetic health risks with your unborn child or if you just want to have some tests done prior to birth so you're made aware of potential health problems, ask your OBGYN if a prenatal imaging center can assist you.
